Let's seek him together

Spiritual direction is a place to deepen your life with God and explore your life in Christ. It is a place to process, listen, focus on God, and discern His voice and movement in your life.
My job as a spiritual director is to create an intentional and open space for you to reflect on your life, story, and faith. We'll stay curious, honor your questions, and look for God's movements within it all.
Together, we seek the way of Jesus in your life.
I specialize in offering spiritual direction for pastors, ministry leaders, therapists, spiritual directors, and Christians who are engaged in serving in God's Kingdom. Whether you lead an entire church or you serve behind the scenes

Many pastors, ministry leaders, therapists, caregivers, and lay leaders benefit from the integrative work God does in the ministry of spiritual direction. As you slow down and begin to notice God's movements in your life, there is a new opportunity to find clarity, peace, deep understanding, and renewed life in your faith.
Leaders often come to spiritual direction for the first time because something feels out of alignment in life. Often, this is the result of facing changes in ministry, organizational problems, or simply entering a new season of life that doesn't seem to work with the usual tools for navigation.
- You used to hear God clearly, but now His voice seems cloudy
- You sense God is doing a new thing in your life, but it's difficult to really see or understand
- Burnout and compassion fatigue have crept into your life and ministry
- You've spent years doing a lot for God, but you don't know how to be with God anymore
- You're longing for a new way of doing everything: prayer, ministry, leading, and connecting with God
- You've sensed a shift in your role, and you're not sure what it means
Spiritual direction is a confidential space to notice the movements of God, examine rhythms of connection with Jesus, process what feels confusing, and reconnect with yourself and your Creator. There is no agenda in spiritual direction other than move towards God, one degree at a time. The fruit of this process is a more organic sense of peace, clarity, intimacy with the Trinity, and deeper integration in life and ministry.
Because I am also a licensed therapist, I approach spiritual direction through a trauma-informed lens. This means we don't have to be afraid to encounter your story, patterns, stuck places, or pain in spiritual direction.
Trauma-informed spiritual direction establishes a sense of safety as you pursue spiritual depth and grow in Christlikeness. A trauma-informed approach also allows us to seek depth and clarity with God, even when we bump up against harder things in your story and life.
That being said, Spiritual Direction is different than therapy. If you're curious about whether therapy might be a better fit for you, I'm happy to discuss the differences with you.
FAQ
I'm struggling in my faith, is spiritual direction the right place for me?
Yes! Spiritual direction is the perfect place to sort through hard things with God. Often as we engage questions, the Holy Spirit offers clarity and reorientation to help bring God and your faith into focus in a new way.
How often should I schedule spiritual direction sessions?
Spiritual direction sessions usually happen every 4-6 weeks.
Can I talk about a current problem I have?
Sure! Many people come into spiritual direction with a current issue weighing them down. We'll focus our time exploring what God is doing with the problem, and how He might be trying to get your attention in this issue.
I don't have a place where I can talk about visions from God, supernatural experiences, spiritual warfare, etc. Are those topics ok to discuss in spiritual direction?
Absolutely, I am familiar with and comfortable with all elements of the Christian faith, from the prophetic realm to spiritual warfare, supernatural things, and everything in between.
Do you offer spiritual direction for non-Christians?
Unfortunately, no. My training and my own personal faith are firmly oriented towards Jesus and the historical roots of Christianity. It would be very difficult for me to help you explore other spiritual paths.
What's the difference between therapy and spiritual direction?
This is a common question! Since I am a licensed therapist and a spiritual director, these lines often intersect.
In general, spiritual direction focuses on your faith and deepening your spiritual life with God (which often includes exploring your own story and life). Therapy often (but not always) focuses more on problems and mental health concerns. Here is a blog post about therapy vs. spiritual direction to help you discern which one might be best for you. The table below also outlines some of the differences.
