What is Trauma?
"Trauma is...anything that overwhelms the body's ability to cope."
- Bessel Van der kolk
Trauma is any experience that leaves a you feeling unprotected, unsafe, and alone. These experiences can be one-time life altering events, or they may be like 1,000 paper cuts happened repeatedly over time.
Examples of Trauma:
"Trauma is not just what happened to you, it's what happens inside of you as a result of what happened to you."
-Dr. Gabor Maté
Trauma Therapy can help.
Whether it was a car accident that happened last year or a decade worth of neglect in childhood, none of us can escape the effects of trauma in our lives.
I am a trauma therapist who specializes in working with adults who have experienced trauma in their life.
The work of healing trauma begins with finding safety, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. As this becomes more established, we are then able to process experiences and reprocess memories and traumas which ultimately furthers the healing you experience in your life.
By design, the healing journey is gentle, safe, slow, and seeks to bring full resolution to your memories, relationships, and ways of engaging the world.

Gentle Steps Towards Healing
Healing from trauma is not easy, fast, or simple. But on the other side of it, lies a new world of possibility and hope. I believe trauma therapy should be both gentle and effective. We don't want to wade around for eternity in past wounds, but we also can't rush the process and risk bypassing significant parts of your story either.
I believe in a collaborative process that allows us to set the pace together. Together, we will tend to what needs healing and check in frequently to evaluate where we need to keep exploring.
I use a variety of trauma-informed lenses in my approach to trauma therapy. From slower and more organic therapeutic approaches, like Attachment Theory, to quicker resolution for distressing mental images through Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), we commit ourselves to a process that brings relief and restoration to the places trauma has touched.
