"Trauma is not just what happened to you, it's what happens inside of you as a result of what happened to you."

-Dr. Gabor Maté

Trauma is any experience that leaves you feeling unprotected, unsafe, and alone. These experiences can be one-time, life-altering events, or they may be like 1,000 paper cuts that happen repeatedly over time.

I specialize in working with spiritual trauma and adults who have experienced trauma in childhood.

The work of healing trauma begins with finding safety - physically, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. As this becomes more established, we are then able to move towards deeper healing in your life.

By design, the trauma therapy is gentle, safe, slow, and seeks to bring full resolution to your memories, relationships, and ways of engaging the world.

Colorado Christian Trauma Therapy

Gentle Steps Towards Healing

Healing from trauma is not easy, fast, or simple. But on the other side of it, lies a new world of possibility and hope. I believe trauma therapy should be both gentle and effective. We don't want to wander around forever in past wounds, but we also can't rush the process or bypass significant parts of your story either.

I believe in a collaborative process that allows us to set the pace together. Together, we will tend to what needs healing and check in frequently to evaluate where we need to keep exploring.

I use a trauma-informed lens and a variety of evidence-based modalities in my approach to trauma therapy. Ultimately, this allows us to seek restoration of the places trauma has touched.

FAQ

Do you only work with childhood trauma?

For the most part, yes. Occasionally, current trauma also intersects with past trauma and we make sure to navigate that with care.

Healing trauma sounds scary. Do I have to relive all of my old memories?

No, healing trauma does not require you to be exposed to old memories. In fact, trauma therapy seeks to ensure you are not retraumatized by anything from your past.

How long does trauma therapy typically take?

We often say, "it takes as long as it takes." There are no prescriptive ways of predicting how long this journey might take. My commitment to you remains firm, regardless of our timeline.
